I understand how hard it is when a loved one dies. My advice? Think of how they wouldn't want you to feel sad and alone. Think of how it's a release for them, they don't have to go through all of that pain, whether it was illness or some sort of accident.

Don't pretend that it didn't happen. Embrace the good times you had together. It's okay to feel sad, but she is safe now. It's good to talk it out with counselors, and very important to talk about it with your son.

Try to feel happy once in a while. Go somewhere that puts your mind at rest, or go do something with friends.

Remember what you have. It's a good idea to keep a "graditute journal" to take a minute to appreciate life. Best of luck to you.
