I think it depends on the reassuring...

For certain things:
I told my Xt about some csa, and texted him later to make sure he didn't find me repulsive. He reassured me.
Not for others:
If I was to ask him if he hated me for the 12th time that month, I am sure he would have told me to "think about what I've already told you"
