As a child I saw animals slautered in often horrid ways. More horrid was that they were my friends.

I have many critters and with that comes inevitable loss and euthanasia. I am living quite poorly since I do not work now. I had a 20 year old cat who has recently become incontinent and cancer on her face, skin and bones. Many country folk here would have done the deed for me but with a lot of viplence.

So quite by accident I found that starter fluid has ether in it and I was preparing to take care of kitty tonight. My husband did it. It was peaceful and he held her and just put her under and suffocated her. I am glad that he could do that. He never used to be able, I have been the one to go to the vets for euthanasia. Thing is they charge a fortune and if we have to spend money it's best spent on the living. She had a good life and I know she didn't suffer fear or trauma in her death. I need to hold onto that please as old stories like to run their tapes in my head at times like this.
