I am not sure how to put this but I guess I'd ask you first off, what is so scary about a diagnosis of bpd? I guess the reason I don't understand is because when I was Dx'd it was a light for me, it helped me to gain focus on what I am, gave me direction into how to learn more about myself and why things were the way they were in my life.. It helped me to understand some behaviors of mine and with that, gain some control or at least some skills in coping with those behaviors when they were "off" kilter or inappropriate.

BPD is absolutely not a gloomy thing, a death sentence, or something that has you doomed. Thing is, if you are indeed one that suffers from bpd, nothing is going to change that fact. Having an official dx of it is a good thing so you're no longer in the dark floundering around like a blind person trying to figure things out. You now have direction as to where to get help, learn to cope and deal with what you have. It's better to know what you have and deal with it than to have a disorder and not know.

Hope this helps.
Thanks for this!
