Hey. Just wanted to share my experiences..... I live in Tennessee, arguably one of THE most difficult States to win SSDI. in the country. For me, what it came down to was... my Doctor. He suggested it, he was responsible for the information re; my mental health. Depression, BPD, Anxiety...ADHD...... And, from what I understand in any state, mental health is the most approved reasons for disability.
With my experience, I had been seasonally Laid-off from a job in DEC. 2010. During the two years, I applied and interviewed for many jobs, in all areas not just my field. After 2 years of PT work, being fired, not working longer than a few months at a time, I had the talk with my Shrink.... He had suggested it before....Disability....But, for the life of me, I did not want to face the fact .... I was that far gone.... but, I couldn't deny I had "Burned Bridges" and my reputation and references...well, they just were not helping. Working against me, which added to my condition over and over ......
So I did it, I applied in Aug of 2012 and listed my date of onset as DEC. 2010, since that was the last job I had held for almost a year. It took several months, but I received a letter saying I had been approved. No interview, No hearing. Of course, you have to be disabled for 6 months after applying (no work) to receive payment. So I was paid retroactive from July 2011. (6 mo after Dec 2010)
With all this, I want you to know.....IT COMES TO YOUR SHRINK, THE TIME AND EFFORT THEY PUT INTO THE LETTER TO SS OFFICE. TALK TO HIM......
And, well, aside from all the BS that came up and down throughout the process..... That's my story folks.
I hope this helps, and keeps hope alive.

Peace and Love to all.... UGirl.....
