Dreams can speak of the relationship between your ego (your conscious attitudes, feelings, and sense of self) and your unconscious. Someone trying to kill you could be some part of your unconscious trying to assert itself, and this part of you feels threatening because it feels like it could take you over completely (your ego would be no longer recognizable).

If you want to, you could say a little bit more about your sense of self--who do you think you are? How would you describe your personality? What skills do you have?

And this would be an interesting question to get your answer---if you were asked "Who are you not? What qualities, traits do you think of as totally unlike you?" what would you answer?
