I dont know how things work there in the UK Trm, Im sure youve looked at every option, but I think if this were in the states, grandparents would have some rights too. Now that they are saying it might have been a case of rape, that could change things. It seems to me that bringing up rape now, after the paternal side is involved and invested emotionally as much as financially, is something social services would look at, but in a balanced way, not just believing only one side. I know the system here isnt ideal and there are unhappy feelings from decisions that get made outside the familys wishes.

I think what (((sabby)))) said to ((kathyryn))) on the other thread is the best advice I see for you right now. Keep the love you feel for everyone alive, you cant know how things might turn out but you have to prepare for a few results you believe you can control. One of those is the love you will feel for all of your family despite any negative outcomes from this. Sending you and the family strength and hope.
