My child had this done. The process he went through was first a sleep study where he was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Then after the formal paper work was done he had an operation where his tonsils, and adnoids were removed and then they thinned out the musuc membrains of the nose and throat to make his airway larger.

he still has to go through the second sleep study which will varify if the operation has helped. on the plus side he is not on a CPAP machine so in my opinion thats a good thing in that the operation did not cause his apnea to become worse. So he is either the same as he always was or he has improved. Either way he can consider this a win win situation because he did not get worse.
