I do sympathize with your situation. I have a strict policy of not dating guys with kids, but my current love didn't tell me for five months, knowing my policy, and after I fell in love he kinda sprung it on me. I am trying to work through my issues about dating guys with kids, but it certainly isn't easy. Hang in there if you feel it is worth it.
