I have that too, woundedhearts... it's called a paradoxical reaction.
While the MD was trying to find an antidepressant for me, I had to go to hospital for the trial, as I would become violently depressed (I know it sounds weird, but seems to describe me then) from the AD that I could take myself out within 20 minutes of taking the med. (They even thought to trick me once, seeing if it was all in my head or what...and the dismissed my sickness in hospital and the nurses overdosed me..

it was a bad scene.)
Hypersensitive systems battle any thing that comes in, as an intruder.
Also, I can't take ANY generics, and it's suspected that I am allergic to the fillers used (as the active ingredients are the same.) I needed a compounding pharmacist to help me through this maze.
I can use herbals. I D K why but perhaps they are natural and the body allows them..whereas the synthetics are a dead give away to my system???
((((hugs)))) No, it's not in your head. You aren't faking it.

Like we take medicine to feel better and they accuse us of that! Grrrr
