When I was a public defender, we would switch around sorts of cases that were in our area of sensitivity. I was not particularly sensitive to and therefore took on a lot more of the csa/ca/cmurder appeals than other people, but I would not take any case having to do with animals and I tried to take as few of the elder abuse cases as possible
