Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine, GenCat, which is an antiserotogenic medication. It
has few really serious side effects except for the elderly, and it can in rare instances
cause hallucinations or act as an hypnotic.
Chances are you're having side effects that are not considered serious, but if it continues to get worse, I would discuss it with my psychiatrist; there might be a change called for if it is bothersome.
One thing we have to face is that if we're going to take psychotropic medications, we
need to do our research to find out what the side effects are and try to side step them if
we can by watching our diet in an effort to reduce any effects that are troublesome.
Your medication is also called Atavax or Vistoril. It's one of the safer medications.
