I am much much closer to Hankster's age than to yours, Healed. And indeed to each their own, I was not criticizing your reaction at all. I was amused at my own reaction.
I really like being old. I always wanted to be older and young to me, was always off-putting or insulting. I would never allow a therapist or anyone to address me as "young" anything. I do not consider it an endearment or compliment. I also believe it is somewhat misogynistic and patronizing- rarely are clearly adult males complimented by being called "young man" or "boy". I embrace crone-hood happily.
