sewerrrats, I got the humor in the statement to the bar lady! In fact, I really enjoy English humour--as in shows such as "Are You Being Served?," "Keeping Up Appearances," and "Waiting for God." Diana on the last show I mentioned has a wicked sense of humor, and I really enjoy her cutting comments about the workers at the Bayview. And I know some other folks from The States who enjoy shows such as those ones.

But I'm sure you're right that not all Americans get it. You folks tend to have a more dry sense of wit, overall, don't you? Or is that an overgeneralization?

Interesting: When I typed the word "humor" after the word "English," the English spelling appeared! I guess "u" English use more "you's" than we do in America!
those are really old shows , (are you being severed is from the 80tis} try this it will test you humour
