If he cannot hear you, you will need to work with someone else. Perhaps, he has difficulty being "wrong", whether it was something he could have known, or not.
As for his talking about your mother, this bothers me...he knows you, not her, but seems, her also (?) to need to impose the past. Doesn't sound as if he can move forward with you.
