I find it hard to express myself and talk to people if I'm in this state. I mean, it's like I'm not even me. I'm not the most active or happy person going, but when I'm like this it's like I just switch off for a time. For example, I was at a party at the weekend and I apparently quietly got up off the sofa and went in the kitchen, sitting in a corner staring in to space.
The hell?
These periods are becoming more frequent. I've found myself in the toilet at work just sitting staring into space after a stressful phone call.

your subject line...are you dissociating....Im sorry but we can not tell you whether you are dissociating or not. only you and your treatment providers can diagnose whether you are dissociating or not..
in .....me....my treatment providers called this many things.....psychotic reaction, stress, anxiety, dissociation, derealization, depersonalization, mania, bipolar disorder, sleep deprivation, medication problems and many others too.
if you google this problem you will find that this can be anything from normal to any mental disorder and any physical health problem..
my suggestion if this continues to bother you contact your treatment provider. they can tell you what this is with in you.
