Me and my fiancé have decided to start trying to conceive. I'm currently on Lamictal, Saphris, and Citalopram. I've done some research on these three during pregnancy and it says that they are in Category C which means in animal studies it has shown to cause adverse effects on fetuses. I'm really worried about stopping these meds. I see my pdoc on the 16th of this month so I will talk to her about it. I don't have severe Bipolar, but still I don't want to have the risk of becoming psychotic and without my meds while pregnant. Have any of you guys experienced pregnancy while on Bipolar meds?
