I don't think that the quickness of when the T cashes a check means anything. I think it might be something personal with them, whatever works for them to keep track of the checks and get them deposited. My T sometimes cashes them quickly, other times she waits and cashes more than one at a time. I have paid cash before, so that I wouldn't agonize over that outstanding check (or 2), but that didn't work well because my T didn't give me a receipt once and then we disagreed about whether I had paid. I was certain that I had and she accepted that I had and that she didn't write out a receipt. As I often have financial issues, it was really uncomfortable so I haven't paid with cash since.
