Hi Psych Central! Got a question for you. I've been diagnosed with GAD, though it's not super bad. I call it "thinktoomuch-itis" cuz my brain doesn't shut off and I get stuck on the stupidest decisions. Big decisions no problem. Tiny decisions or effects, like forgetting to bring a hair accessory I wanted to a wedding or figuring out what I'll eat for dinner long before dinner time, drive me crazy! I took Buspar for a few months last year. I don't take any other psychiatric meds. I got a little freaked out about how quickly the lower doses would stop working and I'd need to up the dose. So instead of giving it a chance to find it's happy spot, I stopped taking it. I've decided to give it another go. I felt good at 22.5 a day, but when it seemed to stop working after a couple weeks I upped it to 30 a day. I thought I might be getting a little depressed on it so I went back to 22.5 and then quit. So I never really figured out my optimal dose. How do you know when you're at the best dose, or when you've gone too far and need to drop it back down? This time I'm upping it 5 mgs every 4 days so tomorrow I'll up to 20 a day and then 25. I'll be curious how 25 does for me.
