((((Leah)))

I just want to say that I do online therapy myself and it works really well for me for the reasons you stated- I'm fully functional in my work and don't need someone close by to get me through major crises. I like the ease of therapy in my own home. Unlike you, however, I met me t in person almost 3 years ago and we switched to Skype/phone when I moved 2 years ago. In fact, I recently was back in my home town and saw her in person for the first time in years. I also got a hug from her for the first time ever (when we saw each other face to face, our relationship was not strong enough for hugging- I don't like to be hugged).

It sounds like your t works well for you at this time in your journey, I hope she continues to help you. I also think that she might have taken your mention of hugs rhetorically in that email quote you mentioned- I think I might have if I had read it. Perhaps, because it wasn't a physical hug she just didn't realize how much it meant to you. If I were you, I'd feel reassured by her quick response and her willingness to see that it is a significant emotional topic even if it is virtual.

I hope you two figure this out and that you continue to benefit from this relationship.
Hugs from:

Thanks for this!
