Perhaps there is a part of you who is also questioning? I agree that when a lot of people are nasty it can disturb even the most assured but maybe there is a way of making yourself feel more comfortable? I don't know how brightly you dress but maybe toning down the colours a bit and keeping an eye on detail/fit might be the best way to go. Despite the onslaught of garishness by Converse and many brands alike there are some better styles out there. You just have to fish for them these days. A black pair, neutral slacks and a not too detailed graphic t shouldn't really incite hatred though - why would it? From what's written here it appears a pretty common style of dress so if this IS what you're wearing then others are either jealous or have more deeply routed insecurity. Both aren't worth your time and if you surround yourself with as much acceptance and kindness from those who celebrate who you are - hopefully the ugly comments will fade more into the background.
