~ Peace of God ~

We need a humbleness of mind,
Remaining meek and being kind;
In forbearing of one to another,
As well as forgiving each other.

You should not quarrel or argue,
Understand their point of view;
With an open mind to the thought,
How they might have been taught.

Remember it was through Christ,
He forgave when being sacrificed;
Above all things put on the love,
Flowing from His blood thereof.

Let peace from God rule your heart,
Firmly bonding for to never part;
Being of one body in thankfulness,
As you dwell in His blessedness.

Let His Word dwell in the wisdom,
Preparing you for His kingdom;
Every word and deed you proclaim,
By speaking it through Jesus' name.

~ Far from Perfect ~

I set my eyes for doing good,
As the Scriptures say I should;
But it is not always that way,
Because my eyes tend to stray.

So I continue to look around,
Trying not to make a sound;
But always seem to get involved,
Emotionally until it is resolved.

In having firmly planted roots,
Someone plucked all my fruits;
Then treating me as an outcast,
As nice guys seem to finish last.

I wish I had revenge in my sight,
But two wrongs do not make a right;
And so I will forgive and forget,
In order for me to cancel the debt.

For I know God is on my side,
Maybe not perfect but I abide;
And in doing wrong I confess,
Knowing that God sure to bless.

~ When I Say I'm Christian ~

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!
