I want to ask him for something ...

and if the answer is yes - it will be good

but if he says no I'll be disappointed and may really upset things

and if I don't ask then I will be left without knowing; and still wanting what it is the favour is about

Sometimes it's just frustrating when something that seems like it should be simple (ie. asking a favour) seems to get all these complicated layers involved

any thoughts welcome
