I had a therapist, a couple of years ago, who suggested that I apply for SSDI. When the time comes for requesting records, she denies marking the suggestion. Prior to this I'd switched thapist because she was laid off [and apparently rehired sometime afterwards] She was the first to say that I had PTSD. She also recommended that I see a Trauma specialist. The second therapist and i see each other for a year, or so, and then she leaves for a better position.
The SS Administrative Law Judge [ALJ] says that neither person was qualified to make that diagnosis. My insurance won't pay for a psych evaluation, and, since I haven't worked FT since 2008, I cannot pay for the evaluation myself. The judge says that my work history suggests that I am a malingerer.
So. how do I 'prove' that my PTSD prevents me from working? I was assaulted and harassed during my last FT job. I feel like that was it, I can't do this anymore. Hell, I couldn't even talk myself into getting dressed today, let alone leave my apartment.
