Ike was an English angora. We had a doe just like him too. Bluebell (the black one) was a Satin.

Even though maybe it feels like it to you, you didn't cause the rabbit to die. Your daughter is more than old enough for the responsibility, and it was appropriate to let her take care of the rabbits. But I know I would feel the same way too. They are special, and I want to have angora rabbits again some day, when my life is a little more settled.
