That is cool. And no I didn't know the corn thing. I vaguely recall some other funny thing about corn. Something about the number of kernels or the number of rows (columns?) of kernels. 80 acres sounds like a lot. I know an old couple in east Texas who garden and grow corn. They have maybe 8 or 10 acres.
I don't think I could eat the squirrel brains. I don't think I ate the chicken ovaries. They looked like clusters of really gross grapes. Poke salad is okay... a lot like spinach... kind of bitter. PITA to cook if you don't want to get sick from it. The kind of stuff you ate when you really had to. Deer steak and sausage are the best meats I've ever eaten. Or maybe it was just the times.
