I do not see any spirituality in the Bible, but do see it as a collection of stories about some pretty interesting people, and as such, it can boost confidence.

For instance, I personally identify with Rachel (it so happened during my adolescence - I did not mean to start identifying with Rachel, but I read a poem about the biblical story of Rachel, Jacob, et al., and the poem exerted some kind of a powerful influence on me, so I started identifying with Rachel).

So... I am glad that Rachel overcomes difficulties and engages in creative problem solving as she goes through her life.

Not a sissy, clearly (no pun intended since part of the whole problem was her status as the younger sister ).

So, I am glad - she is a worthwhile character to identify with. Works well towards using the Bible as a confidence boosting tool.
