Thanks Gayle. I live in Canada but in one of our semi arid deserts. I have not had ac since we moved here almost ten years ago. They are so expensive and I rent so It would also mean blocking out my windows, which I think would make me start to feel down. I know I am pretty sensitive to light and darkness and visual things in my environment.

A testament to my truly craziness to opt to not buy an ac. the stand ups are nice but not at 300 $ or more.
