I had that happen yesterday, eating an apricot. I had the misfortune to pick a ripe one off a tree in Southern California (overhanging the sidewalk on my way home from school :-) in about 1962 and I've never had another apricot that has come close to it and I have so wished. . .

Forget about corn straight from the field; a sun-ripened apricot is the true nectar of the gods.
