I think that the start was SO weird (his saying no to physical love after a night of mind-blowing sex) that every little weirdness you report, one after another, just serves to paint a picture of a highly irrational man. I mean, his mother implores you not to abandon her precious son... OMG.

I think you summed it up rather nicely when you wrote that "Now he is being weird again."

I do believe that you "diagnosed" him correctly - he is... well... weird... most of the time but not all the time. His weirdness is distinct from the typical depression.

Calling before 9AM is impolite unless you are really close and you expressly permitted or asked to receive wake-up calls, and, per him, you are not close.

Coming to fetch you from a private party to which he was NOT invited... by itself, maybe OK... but if he makes it into a trend, you will get a stalker. I am not kidding with this - he himself said that he ENGINEERED the meeting at the art exhibition, right?

If at all possible, try to cut off the ties. The guy is just too weird and unpredictable.

On a lighter note (again, I am sorry, but it just seems suspicious that he would be so weird and so unconcerned with YOUR feelings)...

" He tried to call me it seems but he had written the number wrong. " - do not give people your number as that invites human error. When somebody asks for your number, ask the person to dictate their cell phone number to you and call that number on the spot. Then, ask the person to make a contact out of their last call log entry. Then, they should call you to confirm. This way there is no human error.
