Best one (yet): "You do - even if you fail, you do." A college professor reproached my complaint. I felt he meant that the process is what matters instead of the high expectations of getting an A. I knew this, but I really needed to hear this from somebody else.

Worse: "Y'know ya manipulate everyone." <-- Ouch. My close friend from high school just had to break it to me. I replied to him that I didn't do it willingly. But that only made it worse.
