<font color=green>Daily Affirmations for Forgiving & Moving On</font color=green>

<font color=blue>Change In Relationships</font color=blue>

Today I will dare to imagine that relationships in my life really can change. Because there has been deep hurt in a relationship, it does not mean I must forfeit that person. Things can change — life is always changing — why not relationships? I am amazed at the extent to which I have transformed my insides through recovery. I really feel like a different person in my emotions & my ability to live my life in a sane & peaceful way. Anything that has been sick can get better & if two people want a relationship to change & are willing to work on it & allow growth to take place, it can transform & take new shape.

I can allow my
relationships to get better.

man that studieth revenge keeps his own wounds green, which otherwise would heal & do well.
Francis Bacon

<font color=blue>Responding to Anger</font color=blue>

Today I will remember that when I encounter someone who is overheated with angry feeling, I can stay clear & calm & it will not pass to me. Because someone else is having a hard day need not mean that I have to have one too. If I am not a willing receptacle for another person’s angry feelings, they can pass me by. If they connect with my own angry feelings that I deny by using their anger to mask my own, I will prolong the agony for both of us. Then I need to understand where my anger is coming from & own it. If the anger truly is not mine, I can protect myself by not heating up to its level. I don’t need to get defensive to fend it off – I can fend it off by not becoming it.

I can live with
another person’s anger.

Heat cannot of itself pass from a colder to a hotter body.
Rudolph Julius Emanuel Clasius

<font color=blue>Being with my Feelings</font color=blue>

Today I will allow whatever is flowing through me to flow. I will move aside my agenda of who I think I should be & be where I am. I will create an atmosphere within me of self-acceptance, not attempting to line myself up in any particular direction but observing how I do line up. I do not need to control myself on the inside today. When I watch rather than tangle with my thoughts, I lessen my reactivity. I might spend hours, even days resisting, thinking or feeling a certain way while, if I just accepted whatever it is I am resisting & allowed myself to feel it fully, it would probably pass through me in a matter of minutes & I would be free from it.

I will process & be with
what is already there.

[i]Tell us your phobias & we will tell you what you are afraid of.
Robert Benchley[/b]
