Is this typical?

As I've mentioned before on this board, I'm a certified Spanish Medical Interpreter. We book interpreters for 4 hours for the testing (I've never interpreted the test itself). The evaluators here are PhD-level experts in administering this test. I just happened to interpret for a mother yesterday for the 'feedback' session --it usually takes an hour. The evaluations I've been involved in have only involved small children, so the feedback session is conducted only with parents --I don't know how it works with someone your age.
It involves comprehensive psychological testing, but also cognitive, learning. Yesterday, the psychologist was talking about, amongst other things, reading (including ability to pull out main ideas), writing, sounding out words (speech/language), completing tasks within a certain time period. I believe mathematical ability was also mentioned. But I've heard from others that it's extremely comprehensive: learning, other cognitive function, IQ, psychological issues (depression, anxiety, etc. and what's behind them).
I think it's a great idea you're being tested. It's my understanding that, at least with an expert evaluator, it is as good as it gets as far determining strengths and weaknesses along many fronts and recommendations as to how to help with deficits/weaknesses -cognitively and psychologically.
The two times I've interpreted feedback, the evaluator has offered and documented detailed recommendations and were willing to talk to the schools if they had any questions or disagreed. These cases, however, were all children and involved the IEP. However, presumably, the same would apply to where you are in your education.
Good luck!!
