The answer is because we've used the same, reliable chat system here since 2006 -- long before mobile devices became so popular. Our members are comfortable with it, understand how it works, and so we've kept it.

Now that mobile devices are so commonplace, we're looking to upgrade to a new system this fall that fully supports mobile devices called Parachat.
