((diminishing soul)),
It depends on what you are getting better from. PTSD can occur from one traumatic event or it can include suffering abuse/neglect that can go back to a childhood.
If you are talking about professionals that have been frustrated with your "not getting better", well, it could be due to their just being "lousy" therapists/psychiatrists when it comes to treating PTSD patients.
I have had my own share of "bad therapy" and I have talked to several that share experiencing "bad therapy". Once you fit with a therapist and experience "good therapy"? Then you will be sure how "deficient" other therapists may have been.
What also helps is to get a therapist that is around your age who has the life experiences that you do. A young therapist may not be able to be the right fit and understand "where you are in your life".
If you are talking about family and friends, well, unless they spend time with your T and more than once too, they are not going to be supportive and understanding. I have experienced that myself so I know how that can "aggravate" the PTSD.
