Such anger outbursts as part of bipolar disorder tend not to happen in isolation, in that it would likely be part of a manic episode (for example) with all of those accompanying symptoms experienced along with these outbursts. In other words, a constellation/grouping of symptoms (including sometimes anger) occurring over the course of a period of time.

I see in your profile that you've been diagnosed with BPD. This can, for some people, be characterized by angry outbursts. My understanding is that DBT and other therapies can help with regulating this.

As far as PTSD --if it's not acute, but prolonged, I would try to figure out if something your husband did, or something that just occurred before the outburst, reminded you of whatever caused the PTSD? It's probably more complicated than this, but I would start with that.

Are you in therapy? I think whatever the cause, maybe your therapist can help you with this. Figure out the trigger, and come up with ways to stop the train before lashing out. I'm sorry you're going through this.
