Are you actually "hearing voices" or are you just thinking about things being said to you?

I am no expert, but I think that PTSD can bring on remembering "negative" comments that people have made to the patient in the past that have been hurtful or demeaning or even abusive. But I have not heard of PTSD causing symptoms of actually hearing voices and "made up voices that are not a person from the past".

It is normal though to struggle with remembering comments etc that were hurtful or dismissive or abusive and developing a comforting part of yourself to counteract that.
Some have called it a "wise mind" that is about developing a part of one's self to observe and develop ways to "not just react" to comments others make that trigger negative feelings or "fight/flight/freeze".

If you are actually "hearing" voices as if someone is actually talking to you, you should discuss that with your T.
