It doesn't show up in blood tests, it's just a digestive enzyme, and no, no diarrhea for me, bloated/gassy pain. It's a cheap over the counter box of stuff (in the "beano" aisle, I'd try them too maybe if I were you, they're not just for "beans"). I drink the Lactaid milk too in my coffee, cereal, etc.
