What about the phone....if you can't safely get out of the house why not call people on the phone and just talk. I still recommend Craigslist as a possible source of people....you don't even ever have to meet the people if you don't want to. There was this one guy I never even met because he reconciled with his wife who didn't understand the word platonic. Anyway he really enriched my life by emailing a couple of times a day. We sent pictures back and forth of what we were doing...he sent me a picture of some caterpillars that his kids found, I sent him a picture of the sunrise over the city. If you do want to meet people maybe you can do that too. Just put whatever you actually want in your ad or respond to someone else's.
