Hello.

At the present I have girlfriend which currently lives in the united states, I don't live there myself so our distance is huge. It's the same girlfriend I've had for 4 years now and she is in the hospital and I've supported her financially just recently for 2 operations which was necessary. They needed surgery to remove poison from her body which have been building up over a long period of time, and so it was very serious.

The operation went fine and everything, but the next thing that she requires now is a so called kidney transplantation. Now to my question over here. The doctor says that the cheapest alternative for her is at 12000 british pounds, and that is because she needs a compatible donor. Now my question to all of you which is here and reading this, is this a price which is normal? Does it exist cases when people give away their kidney for free? Or are those extreme cases?

She will be dead in less than 2 weeks from now according to the doctors diagnosis, I'm just hoping the doctor is wrong, but I don't know. I've chosen to always remember her and I told her so no matter what happens, so I felt very sad yesterday. Today it feels a bit better...
