Having a third party in the communication is not always a good idea. Let the messages flow between your daughter and you, and leave your mother out of it. If your mother tells your that your daughter told her that....sounds like a potential opportunity for manipulation to me.
Talk to your daughter and listen to your daughter, the others are not needed messengers .... This should keep your relationship healthy with both your mother and your daughter.
