There are some traits that often (but not always) are present in coders. It does not have to be all the way to the Schizoid Personality Disorder, but definitely introversion. Asperger's, too. And, not the best social skills.

So to the extent that you find yourself content only when writing code, it could be because you have some of those traits, and those traits do not make for easy-breezy socialization.
