Each pdoc I have seen spent an hour asking detailed questions (and charged a huge fee) aimed to arrive at a diagnosis. Once they were satisfied with that, they dropped the time spent to about 20mins and kept questions to basic check up on symptoms. If symptoms sounded worse or going off on a different path, they would dig a bit more, and again change meds. Once my pdoc decided I was sufficiently stabilised, I got given a 6 month repeat script for my stabilisers.

The detailed look at how I am not coping well is done by my therapist (when I can face the pain of seeing one). The focus is now on rehabilitation.
