I would suggest going for walks. You don't have to look good to do it so you don't have to get ready much physically.

I would try eating things that have caffeine in it. Highly suggest chocolate. Maybe eat more sugary foods. At this point your diet and how you look doesn't much matter. Drink pop. Your goal is to make yourself feel better! Make sure you aren't just eating all crap though...just eat rich foods as well.

Try not to sleep all day. I know when you are depressed that tends to go with it. The caffeine should help some.

Play computer games. Or anything you really like to do that requires mental alertness.

From what I factor depression and the slowing of the mind go hand in hand. So do what you can to speed up the mind and the depression should slow down.

I will admit I had an extremely tough time with my depression. But that was because people had told me to do things like stop eating chocolate and playing computer games early on. Including my wife and my therapist. Sure it probably made me act a bit manic but it kept me from going off the deep end the other way!

Just keep in mind the balance you need to take between depression and manic. So you will not need caffeine much to feel the effect.
Edit: The more you go towards mania the less caffeine you should intake to feel the effect. However, too much caffeine can be dangerous anyway so you have to be careful and add some in moderation at first.
