I can relate, but in the opposite way... my mom has been very distant my entire life, she's always been caught up in her marriages/marriage problems and left me to be raised by my grandparents and the only time she was a "mother" to me was during holidays and birthdays.. she's never shown much of in interest in me or my life, I think she loves me in her way, we've just never bonded or formed a healthy mother-daughter relationship and I think it's too late to do that now, esp since she's moving back to Florida to live with her abusive husband which I'm really angry about. It really hurts me though.. I hear about the relationships that people have with their mothers, the bond they have and it seems so beautiful. I feel like I'm missing out. I do have my grandma though, she's been like a mother to me.
