One of the things I have noticed about myself is I am not a bad reader because when I am asked to read something to a class or to a group of people I am fine with it. I read with no stops or stutters. But if I was asked to tell someone what I just talked about or what was contained in the reading I just Read. I do not not absorb what I read. I just see what is on the paper read and everything is fine as far as that goes. But actually absorbing what I read is a whole different can of worms. It is like my brain charges a toll for absorbing the information and storing it away for later use. Most of the time the toll is to much so it does not get payed and I forget what I was reading. Anyone else experience this?

I have trouble, too, parroting back what I just read or learned. I, too, would rather just read out loud to the other person what I just discovered or relevant.
I understand what I just read, but it's hard to communicate exactly what it said.
