Start step by step is what I suggest. As for the writing, I would encourage you to try to write some every day. Decide what you would like to tackle. Are you wanting to publish a book? Fictional? Non-fiction?

Losing weight...... Decide what approach or approaches you want to use. Counting calories and keeping the number at a certain level every day? Exercising every day? Then set out to follow your plan.
