Any nutritionist will tell you that beer in moderation is a very good thing. It helps prevent blood clots, raises your HDL, and helps keep your triglycerides under control. That's when you take it in moderation, or about 16 oz. per day.

That same nutritionist will tell you that lots of caffeine is a very bad thing. It retards the detoxifying effects of natural foods.

For that reason alone, I stay away from caffeine, but also my psychiatrist told me that it tangles badly with atypical antipsychotics. YMMV.
