If you are coping, you probably could work...although it might be difficult. When I am manic and hearing voices, work becomes the last thing I want or can do. Now medicated, the mania has subsided a bit, but work is still difficult for me.

I happen to work with the mentally ill as a case manager, so that definitely makes it interesting. The reason I mention this is because there are jobs out there as a peer-support...you would be working with others like yourself. If you are stable and housed, this looks good on a resume for these types of jobs. Where to find them? At your local social service agencies that work with the mentally ill

PS- my boss knows all about my diagnosis, too...I feel hiding it creates too many potential problems.
