If you qualify like that for your medical, you'll probably qualify for housing, too. That's the thing with poverty is that you start qualifying for things. If you're going to try again, make sure you apply for assistance with your housing. I don't know how it works where you live, but here it's a 3 year waiting list.
3 years can change a lot. Life experience can change you. The thing is you tried before and it didn't work out. But you can learn from that experience and if you try again have a different experience. Consider the appartments you moved to and see if there were red flags about the people that lived there being hostile. It's hard when you are poor trying to find a good place, but they do exist.
